Finally the marathon is over.
Pakistan, especially Umar Akmal, caught everything - 4 catches! Unbelievable!
Ireland started well but whimpered to the end. It was finally the Anniyan Pakistan that turned up!
West Indies played like zombies. Ate everything in sight for the first hour or so! After that went to sleep. Sammy fought - with Holder that is! Gayle was laughing from the pavilion. It is amazing that this cricket team is still in the competition!
Quote of the weekend: "Our employers are waiting for us!" by the UAE captain. Sets them apart, doesn't it?
At the end of the pool, ICC was probably right. Number of meaningless games from a standing perspective. Two upsets in 42 games! 8 out of 42, if you consider India's double hat-trick ;-)
Now onto the quarters.
G-Section:
We shall increase the credits at stake for the knock-outs as follows
Quarter-Finals: 75 credits
Semi-Finals: 100 credits
Finals: 150 credits
For the existing participants, NO additional money is involved.
If you want to join fresh for the knock-outs alone, you shall contribute SGD 20 to charity!
However, you are required to guess for ALL the knock-out games.
If I don't get a guess from a participant, then I will use a default entry that shall be published the day before the game! So, get your guessing hats on & don't be at my mercy!
