Day 23 - Will ENG tour Japan next?

While the whole world is hankering about including more Associates in the next World Cup, the big-3 are quietly working towards exactly doing that. Firstly MSD batted for the Assocs ('...but we can't play any more cricket. No way!'). Now, a leaked ECB position paper claims that England has decided to lose all its games except Scotland (after all, they are part of the empire, aren't they?) - just to promote the Assocs. With that in mind, they are supposedly considering the above invitation from Japan Cricket Assn very seriously. Let us see what the Aussies are upto?

With so much of pedigree, indigenous or acquired, England are way too strong a team for somebody like Bangladesh who have perennially under-achieved. But for England to reach the nadir of under-achievement - it is something for English cricket to seriously look into. More than that, I feel that they are being hampered by the extreme reactions by their media, manned by ex-players, decidedly working only on hyperboles.

(Sorry Yadavalli! I can't publish your photo! We are a family site ;-))

Nothing to take away from Bangla tigers. They played with passion. Fielded very well - except for that drop by Tamim late in the day. Bowled to a plan and reaped the benefits. Salute to Mashrafe - he has a permanent limp these days; there is only so much a human body can take! Rubel will have a temple built for in Bagerhat!

And that Chris Jordan run-out - I felt that the shoulder of the bat was scraping the ground when the bat bounced. May be I have to go for an eye-checkup!

Q-Section:

AngelAsh cracked it. Now for a couple of points, I will leave the question open for one more day, with the following additional clue:

What is the connection between Hooks, Peanuts, Seinfeld, Velvet and Vulcans that binds and tears us?

This connection refers to a commercial product that is omni-present and is a portmanteau of two words from the above list. Not necessarily in the same language.

G-Section:

Guru was the brave soul to predict a Bangla victory. Fortune favours the brave. Let us see how many of you are brave enough to predict an Irish victory tomorrow ;-)

Tomorrow's game is key for both the teams. A victory for Ireland is sufficient for them to go to QFs. For India, a victory is needed to finish on top of the pool. Yaaaawnnnn!
