Day 24 - Of Cricket's Boa Constrictors...

(Inspired by a whatsapp message)

Yes, the result was a foregone conclusion. The only interest was how much of a stretch would India be subjected to by the Irish. And for the first 10 overs or so, the stretch was on. The pacers were jet-lagged alright. Then the constriction started.

Reams have been written about Ashwin's new avatar in which he finds himself to be spoken in the same breath as some of his illustrious country-men from the past. Raina brought in ten. Rohit brought in some more. So did Jaddu. MSD was his usual self. Aggressive, imaginative and cajoling his men to give more. At one stage, he apparently chided Rayudu (substituting for somebody), "Don't stand there like a volley-ball player; anticipate the batsman's moves by watching his foot-work!" Now, don't start on, "Why couldn't he have done this in tests?"

The target was nothing to write home about. And the Indian batters behaved as such :-)

So, India is most likely to play against Bangladesh at the 'G' unless Bangladesh pulls a fast one on the Kiwis! Another green shirt foe!

Q-Section:

Whether the clue worked or not, I don't know. Both Raghav and Bhuvana  came back with the right answer - Velcro That was one of the straight questions from the Velcro wiki entry ;-) Two points each to the lady and the gent.

Now for today's delicious question. Thanks to a colleague @ work, who inspired me to this one.

What is the connection between the first picture and the bauble below that? [4 points]

G-Section:

Well, there was an intrepid soul who wanted Ireland to win - more to get Pak out! And then there was somebody who wanted a Rohit Sharma MoM performance! Neither happened. But Guru managed to reach where he started off GQ'15. Attaboy!

Tomorrow's game is to seal SL's third place unless the tartans decide to pull something out of the Loch Ness.

Sri Lanka vs Scotland @ Hobart by 1100 SGT

Answers and guesses to the usual place.
