Ok, after the free day on the Q part, here is the next salvo.

Proper explanations please.

The Irish were brave; but I think they became a bit too cautious in the middle overs. As a result when the time came to press the pedal, they ended up losing the plot. But Pollard had pressed the pedal so hard that there was no gas left for anybody else after that!

One good thing is that the Irish have given a very good account of themselves in the games so far; mind you they are the only non-full-member to have won a game against a full member in this cup!

As somebody said, what would have happened if Joyce and Morgan had played together today - for Ireland and not for England I mean!!

On the Eastern front, Bangladesh contrived to lose an eminently winnable game through some mindless running and an equally brilliant bowling effort by Shehzad.

Had to rewrite that after the nerve-wracker. So much for writing the report after seeing 169 for 8...

Bumble was besides himself during the last ten minutes. After one particularly beautiful cover drive by Shafiul (which yielded zilch runs after all!), he was blurting out: "Oh! Shafiul is batting like Bradman!!" What makes grown-up men blabber - patriotism? pressure?

Exhilarating is the word that springs to one's mind, Jeeves!

But credit to England, for having bowled with a soap throughout the evening. Evidently, England has decided to take the 'exciting' route to the quarters so far. Windies hold the key to many a fate :-))

Have a boomz weekend!
