World Cup, Here We Come!!

Good luck for those watching the WC on television. After all you have to live with the four-ball over as dictated by the Programme Director. Hmmmm...
By the way, Mio TV has worked like magic so far.
Dilli bahooth door hai ;-) (The journey is long!)
Fingers crossed.

*************

The details of CWC 2011 BQ are here!

Rules are pretty much same as our past BQs. Still worth a while for you to go through.
Dabbu involved:

Minimum 50 bucks

Please note that:
- Group A's Quarter-Final Line up (in the exact order as it would pan out within the group) will cost 3 bucks
- Group B's Quarter-Final Line up (in the exact order as it would pan out within the group) will cost 3 bucks

- Possible Semi-Final lineup costing 4 bucks
- Each preliminary game will cost 2 bucks
- Each Quarterfinal game will cost 3 bucks
- Each Semifinal game will cost 4 bucks
- And the final will cost 5 bucks

Ideally, I would think that you should participate in all the knock-out games; if that is the case, you have a chance of a total of 20 games in the tournament. A good enough number, I would think.

Mind you, the above is only a minimum requirement. You are free to go gaga on all the games :-))

Would appreciate if at least 10 get involved in the B-part; That kinda gives me the joy-quotient!!
* You are free to exceed this minimum by guessing the results of more games and more quarters line up guesses etc.
* But if you intend taking part part in the BQ, then you commit to the minimum set of numbers mentioned
above.

* Final winners give a commitment of donating at least 10% of their winnings towards charity. (I know, I know, all the winners from last time have donated it to charity - Project Give by SINDA - DONATED $255;;; Thanks to all of them! :-))

Framework:

0. Send in the quarter-finals line-up for each group. [in the exact order that you think that they will end up]

To be sent in by Noon SGT, Saturday 19th Feb 2011.

1. There are five things that you need to respond for each game:
Winning team (2 points), Winning Run Margin (4 points), Winning Wicket Margin (4 points), Max number of wickets by which team (2 points), Number of Sixers in the match (2 points)

** If you are reading this, then you are reading the fine-print. The winning margin points will accrue only if your winning team is correct; getting the margin right is just not enough. You have got to get the winning team AND the winning margin to get 6 points

2. Please send in all your entries at least 30 minutes before the game starts everyday to lnspatta@gmail.com
3. Please ensure that you give both the winning ranges: run-margin & wicket-margin
4. Please do not invent your own margins; stick to the published ranges shown below
5. If you are using Excel to track your guesses, when you cut-and-paste, please use Rich Text for pasting; the PCX format is painful from gmail.

Run Margin Ranges: (changed for games starting 22/2/2011)

Between 1 to 20  30 runs (both inclusive)
Between 21 to 40 runs 31 to 60 runs (both inclusive)
Between 41 to 60 runs 61 to 90 runs (both inclusive)
Above 61 runs 91 runs (61 91 and Infinity inclusive)

Wicket Margin Ranges:

By 1 to 3 wickets (both inclusive)
By 4 to 5 wickets (both inclusive)
By 6 to 8 wickets (both inclusive)
By 9 to 10 wickets (both inclusive)

Which team will take the most number of wickets in the match?

Either of the team names OR Same

Number of Sixers in the MATCH:

0-3 (both inclusive)
4-7 (both inclusive)

8-11 (both inclusive)
12++

Oh, don't worry, the Semis line up can be sent by March 7th 4pm SGT.
***Next update on Friday 18th Feb 2011 with the first Q of BQ-CWC2011.
***Three Book Prizes for the top-Three quizzers sponsored by BQ Master*** (And the past winners will also be  feted!)
And the BQ Master's Decision is final - Ha Ha Ha !@!@!

1. Looks like the BQ in the logo is "suttufied" from somewhere. Anyway it looks good

2. There are only 7 KO matches, not 20 as you have mentioned

@Guru: Umbrage :-))
1. The logo was prepared by me and myself alone at around 3am on Wed/Thurs. If it looks like being 'suttufied' I don't know from where?
2. Yes, only 7 KO matches; but with 50 bucks and the cost per match, you can roughly make 20 matches in all... that is what I meant!
English ka problem...
