Some of the stands in the football stadia around the UK looked like Spion Kop and people started calling them as Kop. The second picture shows one such Kop in Hillsborough (of course the most famous one is at Anfield). The third picture is that of Koppers Towers in Pittsburgh and is the headquarters of Koppers Holdings Inc (NYSE trading symbol: KOP)
